Menthol

Menthol is a terpene that occurs in cannabis and plants of the mint family. Menthol has been used in commercial products for years, including topical salves and rubs, toothpaste, lozenges, and chewing gum.

Menthol is not a prominent terpene in cannabis but tends to manifest in Kush strains. Inhaling these strains may provide a slight numbing or cooling sensation in the mouth, but they usually don’t contain enough menthol for any significant medicinal effects.

Studies show menthol’s efficacy as an analgesic, or pain reliever, and it is also popular in aromatherapy oils like peppermint and eucalyptus.
